As environment plays a significant role in every person’s life, hence in order to bring the desired awareness, the Directorate of Panchayat and Engineering Projects India Ltd (EPIL) has conducted numerous activities for spreading awareness in information, education and communication in south Goa. The initiatives were carried out in the Village Panchayats of Savordem, Old Goa, Chicalim and Chicolna-Bogmalo. These initiatives include competitions, workshops and seminars, clean up drives, street plays and road shows. They have also launched e-rickshaw for garbage, diesel vehicle for garbage collection, incinerator, segregation table, plastic/paper/coconut shredder, plastic baling machines, in vessel rotary drum composter and organic waste converter in various panchayats, stated founder and CEO of YIMBY India, Gaurav Pokle.
