Former ISRO chairman Kasturirangan to speak at ICG on June 17

The 7th ICG 2020s Development Dialogue is scheduled on June 17 wherein the chancellor, Central University of Rajasthan and chairperson, NIIT University, Neemrana, Dr K Kasturirangan would speak on - Transforming India: National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. Dr Kasturirangan was earlier Chairman of ISRO and oversaw India’s space programme between 1994 and 2003 and also a member of Rajya Sabha (2003-09) and later served as Member of the erstwhile Planning Commission (2009-14). More recently, he was the Chairman of the Committee that drafted the new National Education Policy (2017-18).

NEP 2020 is a progressive document with the potential to transform India's education sector. It is ambitious in its scope and envisages dramatic and innovative reforms at both the school and college levels. Dr Kasturirangan will address a wide range of questions on NEP and highlight how the country’s education system can be aligned with the needs of the 21st century even as it remains solidly anchored in India's traditions and values. The moderator for the event will be Dattaraj Salgaocar, vice-president, ICG while the introduction will be done by Yatin Kakodkar, president, ICG. MAPUSA The no-confidence motion brought against Colvale Sarpanch Babani Salgaonkar was successfully passed 5-0 in a special meeting held in the panchayat.
