The COVID crisis has hit people from across the country, especially from rural India. To help those uprooted by droughts, famines and other natural disasters along with the pandemic, Goonj, an NGO that works for the rural folks, has appealed to the people of Goa to donate material that is extra or not wanted. The Goa cell of Goonj has organised a donation programme ‘Daan Utsav’ on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti on October 2, wherein the NGO would collect various home appliances, utensils, bed sheets, clothes, stationery, grocery.
There are centres in Margao, Ponda and Vasco in South Goa, and Bicholim and Mapusa in North Goa to collect the donated items. Those who wish to donate can contact on 9356961205 in South Goa and 8007537779 in North Goa to drop the items. The items that are to be donated should be in good, usable condition.
