MARGAO: A double hat trick by Josely Gomes helped Salcete Football Club rout Davorlim Sports Club in the GFA'S U-15 Second Division League, at SAG Artificial Turf ground, Fatorda, on Saturday.
Salcete Club's scoring machine Josley Gomes single handed demolished the rival defence and opened the flood gates in the 18th minute. Two minutes later, Gomes struck again to register his brace. Steven Gomes put the issue beyond doubt in the 25th minute
The second half did not bring any relief to the saging morale of Davorlim as Salcete Club attacked from both the flanks. Josley Gomes completed his hat-trick in the 33rd minute. Josely Gomes made it 5-0 in the 41st minute. Thereafter, it was one way traffic for Salcete Club as Aiden Dias added his name to the scorer list in the 52nd minute. Josely added anthor to his tally in the 55th minute. He hammered in the final nail into the rival coffin in the 58th minute to decimate the rivals.
In another match, Social Cultural Club of Loutolim thrashed Ambaulim SC 6-1. The highlight of the day was a triple strike by Shanon D'Costa and a brace from Elsun Kerkerta. Jaden Dias was the other scorer for winners while Flexon Gomes scored the consolation goal for Ambaulim.
