Mapusa police booked a man, his wife and mother on charges of assaulting and wrongfully restraining a woman in Moira on Monday.
The three accused, Ravi Laxman Naik, his wife, Rupa, and his mother, Lata, were booked after all three are alleged to have wrongfully restrained and assaulted the complainant, Lelavati Nana Naik (70), with slaps at around 11am.
The three accused and the complainant are from Povacao in Moira.
Police said that the accused, Ravi, also abused the complainant with filthy words in public, thereby insulting her modesty and later assaulted her with fibre flower pot and a tile, causing bodily injuries to her.
Mapusa Police registered an offence under Sections 504, 509, 324 and 341 r/w 34 IPC of the IPC. Further investigation is on.
