PANAJI: A book fair, ‘Pustokachem Fest’ will be celebrated for the first time at the Thursday Heritage Market in Pilerne on April 27 at 5 pm at St John the Baptist church courtyard.
The fest will celebrate the collected works of Joseph Furtado, a local poet from Pilerne, wherein Dogears Bookshop from Margao will release the anthology of this Goan poet who lived in Furtado vaddo in the village.
Veteran publishers Leonard and Queenie will do a short presentation on the value of books and the reading habit, especially for younger folk, who today prefer to get their edutainment from social media, rather than books.
Different authors will read poems and stories from their work. There will be a children’s author who will read a story while it is projected on a screen with illustrations. Books from various bookstalls will also be on sale.
