A free webinar on ‘Breaking the Gender Stereotypes’ will be held by the department of English at DPM’s Shree Mallikarjun & Shri Chetan Manju Desai College, Canacona on May 25 at 4 pm on Google Meet. The webinar will address issues around gender identity, stereotypes and discuss ways in which stereotypes can result in unfair situations and conscious attempts to avoid them. There are two eminent speakers who will share their acumen on the topic. One is Ashwini Kumar, assistant professor of English at Carmel College, Nuvem and PES College, Ponda) who is vociferously vocal about social evils, especially those related to gender discrimination and stereotypes. The other speaker is Francis Fernandes, activist, writer and co-founder and chairman, Goa Rainbow Trust, an NGO that deals with issues regarding sexuality and gender identity. Navy starts vaccine centre at Dabolim
VASCOA vaccination centre has been set up by the Indian Navy at Naval auditorium on Airport Road, Dabolim, to augment the efforts by the state administration to vaccinate people in the State against Covid-19.The vaccination centre is operational from 9 am to 4 pm on all days except Sundays.
