A worker drowned while another had a lucky escape while they were at work in a sump as part of sewage works at Kapileshwari, Ponda on Thursday evening.According to sources, the connection and testing of the sewage treatment plant is in progress and the plant is to be inaugurated shortly.
Two workers went inside the line at Kapileshwari and were trying to connect the two pipelines when liquid began rising. While one worker managed to escape, the other worker, identified as Shubham Gopde (23) drowned in the sump.
