A 59 year-old office attendant working in the Fatorda office of Water Resources Department (WRD) allegedly ended his life by hanging in the office premises on Saturday. The Fatorda Police has registered a case of unnatural death in connection with the death. The police said that the male person, Jaiwant K Naik, aged about 59 years, committed suicide by hanging to a ceiling fan by using a nylon rope on the second floor of the WRD office. Sources said the deceased walked into the building on Saturday morning. He was found hanging in the office by the security guard after the latter went inside and did not return back for a long time. The body is preserved at the South Goa district hospital morgue. Further investigation is underway.
