PANAJI
The city of Panaji has been sanctioned developmental works worth nearly Rs 60 crore under the Atal Mission for Rejuvenation of Urban Transformation (AMRUT) scheme of the Union Ministry of Urban Development.
The apex committee of the MoUD met on Tuesday in Delhi wherein the Corporation of the City of Panaji Commissioner and GSIDC Executive Director (Finance) Sanjit Rodrigues put up the State Annual Action Plan (SAAP) for Panaji city. Projects worth Rs 59.64 crore have been approved under four different heads “ urban transportation, water, sewerage and open area development. While all the projects will be executed for the year 2016-17, the funding pattern will be 50 per cent each by State and Centre.
The works proposed include development of Mandovi river promenade amounting to Rs 12.11 crore, Café Bhosle square amounting to Rs 8.6 crore and beautification along Miramar-Dona Paula Road amounting to Rs 13.24 crore, among others.
