Panchayat Minister Mauvin Godinho when contacted on Sunday said he was in Delhi and that he had met with the Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar at AIIMS.

According to Godinho, Parrikar was in good health and leadership change is hypothetical as there was no vacancy for the CM’s post.

Godinho also said that there was absolutely no cause for alarm as was being projected on certain sections of social media.

He said that after meeting and discussing with the CM, he felt that there was no need of any change of leadership or immediate reaction as Parrikar’s health parameters were very stable and he appeared to be cheerful and quite strong.

“He is in good health. He discussed political development for over half an hour and is very concerned about the state administration. He has assured that he will take measures for a functional cabinet under his guidance that will provide not only good governance but allow the government to complete the remainder of their term,” said Godinho.

“I have advised him that he should get back to normal routine once he is completely fit which will be in the near future. There are too many speculations floating about on social media. The fact is that the CM is recovering from an ailment and is undergoing treatment and in the large interest of Goa and Goans will be taking an appropriate decision to allow the State administration to run very smoothly under his leadership. There is absolutely no cause of alarm,” stated Godinho.
