Goa police who launched an investigation into two posters that went viral about 10 days ago advertising a raunchy ‘nude party’ have concluded that it was nothing but
a prank played by a failed
Bihar techie who went
bankrupt.
Armaan Mehta of Bihar stitched up the prank to dupe people by charging them an advance fee to attend the ‘nude party’ which would never have taken place.
Superintendent of Police (Crime) Pankaj Kumar Singh, said Mehta was nabbed after officers of the Crime Branch chased him through multiple States.
According to Singh, Mehta took pictures from the Internet which he edited with a mobile app and he planned to cheat people by creating a sensation.
He began getting a huge number of calls both from overseas as well as from the country and that’s when he began panicking and switched his phone off, Singh added.
A dropout from Bachelor of Computer Applications, Mehta was working in the events and party organisation industry in Delhi for some time.
He had visited Goa once in October last year and as he was going through a rough patch for some months, decided to create a sensation by floating the posters advertising nude pool parties here, Singh said.
He has been booked under the Information Technology Act and also under one section of the Indecent Representation of Women Act.
