The Hindvi Swarajya Sanghatana (HSS) has renamed Dhupyamoll, a newly developed residential area in Shrishthal panchayat, as ‘Dharmveer Chatrapati Sambhaji Nagar’.
The naming ceremony took place at a brief function at the site on the occasion of Vijayadashami on Friday, stated HSS President Dilkhush Shet.
According to Shet, the area (Dhupyamoll) was being used for controversial activities for the past months and complaints were also submitted to the panchayat in this connection.
“An incident came to light six months ago that a house construction licence was sought, but some religious activities were planned in the locality. When locals objected and complained to the panchayat, the construction was stalled.”
Another HSS member said citizens should remain alert in the national interest and said the HSS is working to bring such awareness among residents.
Prashant Dessai clarified that the HSS is not against any caste or religion. “But we wish that everyone should live in close harmony with each other. If anyone tries to disturb peace and brotherhood in the neighborhood, the HSS will not tolerate it,” said Dessai.
