Bangladeshi held in Arpora for illegal stay

Anjuna police have arrested a Bangladeshi national on charges of staying in India without valid documents.

According to the police, the accused, identified as Pulok Sarkar (23), was apprehended near the Laxmi Narayan Temple in Arpora in the early hours of December 17.

Sarkar, who is a native of Bangladesh, was reportedly residing at an under-construction site in Arpora without any valid documentation.

A case has been registered against the accused under Sections 7(1) and 7(3)(iii) of the Foreigner Order, 1948, and Section 14 of the Foreigners Act, 1946, for violating the provisions of these laws. Anjuna police are continuing their investigation into the matter.
