Basic amenities have been provided to slum dweller families: MLA

MARGAO

Margao MLA Digambar Kamat, who attended the February 22 meeting told the officials that all the basic amenities have been provided to the slum dweller families in view of the Slum Act being enforced at Moti Dongor.

In fact, the minutes showed that the MLA called for a joint site inspection of Moti Dongor, stating that he would personally make himself available on the day of joint site inspection.

The MLA had further instructed that all the departments to coordinate and comply, as a result of which the Secretary (Revenue) directed the officers to comply with the directions.

Sources told The Goan that the inspection team headed by the Land survey has completed the inspection, including demarcation, and has submitted the report to officials of the department for further action.

If sources are to be believed, another high level meeting is scheduled later this week to take stock of the situation and take the exercise forward.
