The Comunidade of Aquem is adopting a wait and watch mode even as the government authorities, including the Land survey have carried out the identification and demarcation of the Comunidade and private land, which is under occupation by the slum dwellers at Moti Dongor.
In fact, Aquem Comunidade Attorney Celestin Noronha informed that the Comunidade will take the right action as and when the authorities go about the acquisition of the land in question. “We have only come to know through the media of the government’s rehabilitation plan. Let the government unveil the plan how it will go about the rehabilitation on the Comunidade land when the Administrator had ordered the demolition of the illegal structures in the year 2013”, he said.
Celestin added: “Let the government submit the rehabilitation plan in the High Court and we will make our submission before the Court”.
