Power and Environment Minister Nilesh Cabral on Monday refused to accept the challenge to debate the Goa versus Delhi power tariff models with AAP leader Raghav Chadha and instead suggested that the Delhi power minister Satyender Jain do the honours.
"I have no issues about debating with like-minded people who understand power-related problems," Cabral told reporters at a press conference he held at the Secretariat, claiming that Chadha who is vice-chairman of Delhi Jal Board is not connected with the power sector.
"I don't wish to debate with him. I can only say that if the Power Minister of Delhi is here, he can come and debate with me," Cabral said.
Nonetheless, the Power Minister said if Chadha does indeed come to Goa on Tuesday he can come to meet him at Secretariat and discuss the issue.

"Mr Cabral, I am reaching Goa tomorrow by 2 pm on your invitation to have a public debate with you on Delhi electricity model versus Goa electricity model. I haven't yet heard from you about the place and time of the debate as to where I should come," a tweet from Chadha on Monday read.
During a press conference last week Cabral had claimed that Goa's power tariff was cheaper compared with Delhi. He had also said that he was willing to debate about it.
