The Corporation of the City of Panaji (CCP) will place its budget for the year 2022-23 at 4 pm on Friday.Opposition corporators have, however, alleged that the ruling group is in haste to pass the budget and has not followed the protocol.
“Initially, the budget meeting was convened on Monday with just one day notice to the corporators. Suddenly, the meeting was cancelled and now, it has been convened on Friday,” said Corporator Uday Madkaikar.
Incidentally, this is the first budget to be presented by CCP Mayor Rohit Monserrate and all eyes will be on how he will address the problem of revenue leakages and whether taxes like sanitation tax for residential premises and handcarts are increased or not.
