AAP leader Prof Ramrao Wagh has petitioned the governor and urged him to order a probe into the release of saline water in the Neura khazan fields.
Wagh has further demanded that the culprits responsible for the illegal act be brought to book.
In his petition, Wagh has pointed out that despite the reconstruction of the bundh at a cost of Rs 9 crore, saline water continues to flood the Neura khazan fields, thereby rendering them uncultivable.
“If the reconstructed bundh has been damaged, then the concerned contractor may be blacklisted and if the water is released deliberately by the sluice gate contractors, then he may be debarred and his contract nullified,” Wagh states in his petition.
He has further pointed to the possibility of collusion between the government authorities, the tenants association and the sluice gate contractors in converting the khazan land into fish breeding areas.
“I request you to order immediate inspection of the entire khazan bundhs and sluice gates, and investigate as to who has released this water and book the culprits. If they have deliberately carried out such act then they may be debarred from operating the sluice gate,” the petition adds.
