PANAJI
Goa Forward has issued a final warning to the Goa University (GU) and the State government to declare the results of final year students by Sunday, failing which it will be forced to take the issue to the court.
Speaking to reporters in Panaji on Thursday, Goa Forward Students Cell Convenor Uddesh Naik Dessai said that earlier on August 3, a delegation had met GU registrar on delay in final year results of undergraduate courses.
“We had explained to him why there is a need to declare the results on time. We had also given him an ultimatum that if the results are not declared within 8 days, then the next step would be taken. Now that the deadline has passed, we are giving a final warning to GU and State government to declare the results by Sunday, failing which further action would be taken including approaching the court,” Dessai stated and hoped that the GU will heed to the warning and declare the results by Sunday.
On the circular issued by the GU that the results will be declared by August 16, Dessai said that they will not wait that long as the registrar had assured that results would be declared within 8 days.
