The proceedings of the Goa Legislative Assembly were abruptly halted when a sudden burst of rain caused a power outage late Tuesday evening.
The Assembly Hall suddenly plunged into darkness around 7.50 pm when Leader of the Opposition Yuri Alemao was in the middle of his speech on the motion of thanks to the Governor’s address.
Deputy Speaker Joshua D’Souza was presiding over the proceedings at the time.
The lights in the hall were restored within a couple of minutes. However, the technical team was seen hustling in the control room and struggled to restore the sound system. Taking them at least five minutes to eventually set everything right for the proceedings to resume.
