TMC collecting data on pretext of Griha Laxmi: BJP Mahila Morcha

PANAJI

The BJP Mahila Morcha has petitioned the Election Commission of India (ECI) to take action against the TMC, after accusing it of collecting personal data of women on the pretext of a Griha Laxmi card and promising to give them Rs 5,000 a month.
"We have submitted a memorandum to the ECI complaining about the TMC. Those who are not in the government cannot offer such a scheme and that too, before the election,” said BJP State Mahila Morcha President Sheetal Naik.
“This data of women can be misused and the ECI has to act on this complaint.”
Naik said the BJP has been ruling the State since the last 10 years and women are being given benefits under the Griha Aadhaar Scheme.
“Initially, the amount was Rs 1,000 per month and then, it was increased to Rs 1,200. Now, it is Rs 1500 per month and the scheme is running well.”
“The scheme of giving Rs 5,000 to women is impractical and why is TMC supremo and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banergee not giving such benefits to women in TMC-ruled Bengal,” asked Naik.
Goa Mahila Morcha leader Sulakshana Sawant said it was their duty to make people aware how their data has been taken by the TMC.
“Parties are giving fake assurances which cannot be fulfilled by just copy-pasting the schemes of the BJP government in the last 10 years,” she said.
