Nagaland man found dead in Mandrem river

A 33-year-old man from Nagaland was found dead in the Junaswada river at Mandrem on Saturday. The body was found floating in the river and a police team led by Mandrem Police Inspector Girendra Naik retrieved the body from the site and sent it for an autopsy to the GMC hospital at Bambolim.

Police began investigations to ascertain the identity of the deceased and found out that the deceased, Moatangit Shilunungsang, was from Nagaland and was working at a hotel in Vagathor.

Police was informed that Shilunungsang was an alcoholic and may have drowned after falling into the river in an intoxicated state. Mandrem police are conducting further investigations.
