CEC begins visit today by meeting 1,000-plus BLOs

Chief Election Commissioner Gynesh Kumar will kick-start his two-day visit to Goa on Wednesday with an interaction with 1000-plus Booth Level Officers from across the state at the Ravindra Bhavan, Margao.

Day two of the CEC’s visit will see Kumar interaction with members of the Electoral Literacy Clubs (ELCs).

The Ravindra Bhavan, Marga saw heightened activity as the election officials gave finishing touches to the arrangements ahead of the two-day Regional conference on “BLOs, ELC and ECINET”.

Apart from the putting in place the arrangements for the CEC’s visit, the election authorities will also display a model polling station and a model counting centre, informed District Electoral Officer Egna Cleetus.

After reviewing the arrangements at the Ravindra Bhavan, the DEO said BLOs and counting agents will make their presence felt at the model polling stations and counting centre at the Ravindra Bhavan, adding that the authorities intend to send a clear message that there’s continuous audit of the polling arrangements.

Besides, the election authorities will also set up a booth to facilitate registration, including registration of voters and to effect change in names in the election cards.
