Carneiro elected Telaulim sarpanch

Prudencio Carneiro was elected as the new Sarpanch of Telaulim village Panchayat.
During the elections held on Monday, Prudencio was elected unopposed after the presiding officer received his lone nomination paper for the vacant post. His nomination was proposed by outgoing sarpanch Duarte Pires and panch Milagrina Pires.
The election was necessitated following the resignation of outgoing sarpanch Duarte Pires.
After his election, Prudencio told the media that he would try and complete all pending works, including the de-silting of a village lake. Regarding the problem of waste disposal in the village, the new sarpanch informed the panchayat will try and solve the issue at the earliest.
He also said the panchayat will ask the postal authorities to assign a new postman for the village.
Meanwhile, outgoing Sarpanch Duarte told THE GOAN that he had stepped down from office as per a previous understanding with the members.
