A woman died while six others were injured when a car was involved in a self-accident near Anjunem Dam at Keri–Sattari in the wee hours of Tuesday.
According to police, the incident occurred around 1.30 am when a Maruti Suzuki XL6 travelling from Akkalkot in Karnataka to Porvorim went off the road near Anjunem Dam after the driver, Nandakumar Naik (60) of Salvador do Mundo, lost control of the vehicle.
The driver and all six passengers sustained injuries in the accident. They were shifted to hospital for treatment, where Snehal Ghategasti (27) of Vaddy Merces, Santacruz, was declared brought dead at the Community Health Centre, Sanquelim.
The police conducted an inquest panchanama and sent the body for postmortem to the GMC Bambolim.
