PANAJI: Ten of the country's leading real estate companies have expressed their desire to build Goa Housing Board's (GHB) ambitious housing project at Colvale.
Incidentally, not a single Goan realty firm is among the 10 companies in the fray to undertake the construction of 1,560 single and double bedroom flats at Colvale at an estimated cost of Rs 267 crore.
The GHB will now shortlist the companies within the next 8-10 days next for a financial bid, which will be final tender for the project.
The 10 major real estate and infrastructure companies vying for the project at Larsen and Tubro, Shapoorji Pallonji Group, B E Billimoria, NCC Limited, Capacite infra projects, JMC projects, Supreme infrastructure, Ramky Infrastructure, B L Kashyap, Simplex infrastructure.
After giving two extensions to the pre-qualification application process, the GHB on Friday opened the bid from interested companies and the next process will be to shortlist qualified companies for financial bidding process.
Only shortlisted companies can submit their financial bid which will be the last tender process. The successful bidder will construct the Colvale Housing Project within 28 month after being awarded the work order, a source told The Goan.
According to information, 1,080 single bedroom flats and 480 double bedroom flats will be constructed at the proposed GHB property in Colvale.
The work will be undertaken in two phases. In the first phase, 840 single bedroom flats will be constructed on one plot, while 360 double bedroom flats will be constructed on another plot.
In the second phase, 240 single bedroom flats will be constructed on one plot, while 120 double bedroom flats will be built on another plot.
One plot has an area of 36,803 sq mtrs, while another plot is spread over 25,485 sq mtrs.
The terms and conditions stipulate that the company allotted to build the project should finish one-third of construction work before 15 months, the next one-third work within 21 months and the completed project should handed over to the government within 28 months.
