The Ministry of Tribal Welfare Department will utilise funds of around Rs 40 crore for the upliftment and welfare of the Scheduled Tribe community in Neturlim, in Sanguem Taluka.
During his recent visit to Neturlim, Tribal Welfare Minister, Ramesh Tawadkar, informed that his department is planning to train 1,000 agricultural professionals in the state, a move which will boost the agricultural sector.
Tawadkar also mentioned that the Atal Gram Yojana scheme will be implemented in Neturlim soon.
In his address, Tawadkar urged the locals to pass a resolution in their panchayat regarding the construction of a multipurpose community hall for the Sarvajanik Ganeshotsav Mandal-Neturlim and forward the same to his office.
"Funds to the tune of Rs 50 - 70 lakh from the Tribal Welfare Department will be utilised for this purpose, and the work can be completed by June 2016," Tawadkar said.
Sanguem MLA, Subhash Phaldessai, in his address stated that crores of rupees have been spent to develop areas in Neturlim, and emphasised that the implementation of the Atal Gram Yojana scheme needs to be speeded up. He also thanked the Tribal Minister for his assurance to undertake the construction of a multipurpose hall in the village.
South Goa ZP president, Navnath Naik; Neturlim Sarpanch, Shashikant Gaonkar; Sarvajanik Ganeshotsav Mandal-Neturlim President; Satyawan Dessai and others were present for the occasion.
