When asked the reason behind this, a senior official working with Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) in Goa said, “We were having this problem for the last few months because local servers were being migrated to Delhi. This issue wasn’t unique to Goa because this process was happening everywhere across India, wherein servers from regional offices were being transferred
to Delhi.”
The official continued, “We were not able to log into our systems due to migration related internal issues in the system. However, this problem has been rectified now. The migration has been completed. For the last 2-3 days, things are back to
normal now.”
As per rules, EPFO cannot exceed 20 days for liquidating PF applications from the point the entry is made in
the system.
However, this wasn’t happening in Goa for the past few months. This delay in processing PF applications adversely affected those who wanted to withdraw their funds and also those who wanted to move their PF investments to the new employer.
The official further informed, “Things have normalised now, and we have also deployed more staff on the job, as a high number of dealing assistants and section supervisors are working overtime till 8 pm. Due to this, we estimate that 1,390 pending PF claims will be liquidated by the end of this week.”
