Of the 16 "108 ambulances" assigned in North Goa, only one has been allotted in Tivim constituency.
In a reply to his question, Tivim MLA Nilkant Halarnkar was informed in the Assembly that the ambulances were located at various places in North Goa such as Bicholim PHC, Asilo District Hospital, Mapusa, Siolim PHC, Taleigao Community Hall, Chorao police outpost, Mandrem panchayat, Sanquelim PHC, Old Goa police station, Pernem police station, Mapusa District Hospital (Neo), Calangute Police Station, Valpoi police station, Porvorim police station, Diwar panchayat, Assonora village panchayat and Honda police outpost.
Halarnkar was further informed that only one 108 ambulance was allotted to Tivim Assembly constituency, which was located at Assonora panchayat.
Nine new 108 ambulances have been recently introduced in the State, of which one ambulance was exclusively earmarked for VIPs and VVIPs and two others were allotted to new locations - one each at Cansaulim and Mardol.
The remaining six new ambulances have been allotted in replacement of old ones in Margao,
Navelim, Calangute, Taleigao, Valpoi and Panaji, Halarnkar was informed.
