SANGUEM
An 18-year-old scooter rider from Karyamoddi, Cacora, died in a road accident near Ravindra Bhavan, Curchorem, early Sunday. The deceased, Jaiswal Diniz, a hotel worker in Benaulim, was returning home after his night shift when the mishap occurred around 5.15 am.
His scooter (GA-09-Q-1090) collided head-on with a tipper truck (GA-09-U-4331), reportedly driven by Janotan Fernandes of Periudak. Diniz sustained grievous injuries and was rushed to the Curchorem-Cacora health centre, then shifted to Margao District Hospital and later to GMC, where he succumbed.
Police have registered a case; investigation is underway.
