2 brothers from Canacona seriously injured in mishap

Two brothers from Loliem-Canacona were seriously injured in a road accident involving a bullet motorcycle and a car at Partagal-Canacona on Wednesday evening.

The accident occurred when the car (MH-43-AB-6236), which was proceeding towards Karwar, was trying to overtake another vehicle travelling in the same direction along the NH17 road at Partagal. The speeding car reportedly knocked down the oncoming bullet motorcycle (GA-10-B-5644) at a turn along the NH17 road.

The impact was such that Thomas Telis and his younger brother John Menino, who were proceeding towards Canacona on their motorcycle, were thrown into the bushes.

Both the brothers had their legs badly injured and remained at the accident spot for some time, before they were noticed by passing motorists amid the bushes.

Both were shifted to the CHC in a private car and were later shifted to Hospicio in Margao.

Sources informed that both were shifted to GMC Bambolim, as their condition was reported to be serious. Police has registered the case and is investigating the matter.
