Two riders were seriously injured when their two-wheeler and a rent-a-cab collided at the Mopa Link Road worksite on Friday evening.
According to reports, Nishita Agarwal (25) of Tamil Nadu had landed at Manohar International Airport in Mopa and had hired a rent-a-cab. She was proceeding towards Dhargal.
Around the same time Ramchandra Ramesh Malhar (23) and Ashok Banki (24), both from Vengurla-Maharashtra were riding on a two-wheeler towards Mopa. The two vehicles did not anticipate the Link Road work in progress at Sukekulan and collided with each other.
Both Ramchandra and Ashok were seriously injured and were shifted to the District hospital in Mapusa. Pedne police conducted a panchanama and is investigating the case.
Incidentally, one person had died in a road mishap at the same site in June 2023.
