2 killed, 3 critical in road mishap at Chorla

Two persons were killed while three persons were seriously injured when a car from from Maharashtra which was travelling to Goa via Belgaum region plunged into a valley in Chorla Ghat late Thursday night.

According to reports, the car entered the Goa border when the driver lost control at a dangerous curve and the vehicle fell into the valley.
The two persons who died in the mishap were Noor Tanuddin Sheikh (36) and Sudhir Atmaram Parab (36), both from Palghar-Maharashtra, while those injured were Vinod Kumar Kanhat, Santosh Bhawar and Adrey Fernandes, also from Palghar, were seriously injured.
A fire brigade rushed to the spot for rescue and recovery operations. The injured persons were first shifted to the government hospital at Sankhali, from where they were shifted to the GMC hospital in Bambolim.
A Valpoi police team led by PI Sarvesh Gadi was also at the site to investigate the incident.
