2 killed in separate train accidents in South Goa

VASCO
Two unidentified men lost their lives in separate train accidents reported within a span of a few hours at different locations on Thursday.
Both incidents are being investigated by Vasco Railway Police as cases of unnatural death.
The first incident was reported at around 2.13 am after the Deputy Station Manager of Vasco Railway Station informed police that a man had been run over by a train between Chandor and Margao railway stations. Railway Police rushed to the spot and found the body of an unidentified man, aged about 55 years, lying on the railway track.
Preliminary inquiry suggests that the deceased was hit by a passing train while walking or attempting to cross the tracks. Police conducted the inquest and other legal formalities before shifting the body to the South Goa District Hospital (SGDH), Margao, for medico-legal procedures and identification.
Just under two hours later, at around 4.08 am, Railway Police received another alert from the Deputy Station Manager reporting a second accident between Vasco and Margao.
On reaching the spot, police found the body of another unidentified man, aged around 40 to 45 years, lying on the railway track. Initial investigation indicates that he too was struck by a moving train while walking or crossing the tracks. The body was later shifted to SGDH, Margao, after completion of the inquest and panchanama.
Vasco Railway Police have registered separate cases of unnatural death under Section 194 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). Further inquiry in both cases is being carried out by PSI Krishna Talpi under the supervision of PI Amarnath Passi and the guidance of Mormugao DySP Gurudas Kadam.
