Four persons were injured in two separate mishaps involving two cars, an Indian Navy bus and a two-wheeler on the accident-prone Karmalghat in Canacona on Tuesday.
The two mishaps led to disruption in traffic along the NH66 highway for some time.
In the morning, two persons including a tourist lady were injured when a private car and a tourist taxi proceeding in opposite directions collided with each other at Karmalghat.
The airbags on both cars deployed and while the driver of one car suffered minor injuries, a lady tourist in the tourist taxi sustained leg injuries in the mishap. The injured were shifted to South Goa District Hospital in Margao.
In the second mishap, two youth from Neturlim who were descending on the Karmalghat and an oncoming Indian Navy bus collided with each other in the evening.
The Indian Navy Bus was reportedly on the wrong side, while reportedly trying to overtake another vehicle ascending the Karmalghat proceeding towards Margao.
The two youths were, however, lucky to escape minor injuries and they were shifted to the Canacona CHC in a 108 ambulance.
Police teams went to the site and shifted all vehicles involved in the accident to the roadside, restoring traffic along the route.
