SANGUEM
Sanguem Police arrested a 42-year-old man from Cormonem-Dabal on charges of sexually assaulting a woman at Dabamol Sanguem late Tuesday evening.
The accused, Shyam Devidas, had been involved in a similar offence and was released a couple of months back.
The incident took place as the 35-year-old victim was proceeding home from work.
On receiving information, the Sanguem Police swung into action and contacted their counterparts at Curchorem for details, if any, of the accused.
At the same time, a Sanguem police team laid a trap at the room where the accused was reported to be residing at Xeldem.
The accused returned to the room late Tuesday night unaware of the trap laid by the police and he was placed by the arrest.
