54 new Covid cases recorded

The Directorate of Health Services recorded only 54 new cases of Covid-19 from among the 1,224 samples tested on Sunday despite the surge in cases making headlines in both the neighbouring states of Maharashtra and Karnataka.

Till date, a total of 54,986 cases of the infection have been confirmed in Goa of which 53,585 have recovered while 606 are presently active.

One death was recorded in the mortality bulletin of the Health Department on Sunday. The deceased, a 74 year-old man from St Cruz, passed away at Goa Medical College and Hospital, Bambolim. The total Covid victim count of the state stands at 795.
