A 64-year-old woman from Camarkhazan-Mapsua died of Covid late Tuesday night, taking the total deaths due to coronavirus in the town to seven.
The woman was declared brought dead at the North Goa District Hospital, after which the post-mortem report revealed that the deceased was positive for Covid.
“We do not know much about the deceased. What we know is that a neighbour of the deceased had been tested positive,” Dr Cheryl de Souza, Health Officer at Mapusa UHC, informed.
In the meanwhile, two police personnel attached to the Mapusa Police Station tested positive even as 28 new Covid cases were reported in Mapusa Municipal Council area.
Twelve persons tested positive in Carrasvaddo, 10 in Khorlim and some isolated cases in other areas of the town.
In the meanwhile, Aldona Primary Health Centre reported seven positive cases “ Nachinola (4), Pomburpa (1), Ucassaim (1) and Bastora, Chandanwadie (1).
Health Officer at the Siolim Primary Health Centre, Dr Sadna Shetye informed that 15 positive cases were reported from the Siolim PHC including six in Parra, five at Verla-Canca and four in Tarchi Bhatt in Siolim.
A total of 15 persons were tested positive for Covid-19 in Candolim Primary Health Centre which includes four from Candolim, six from Pilerne, four from Reis Magos and one each in Arpora-Nagao and Baga.
