An automobile dealer in Porvorim is likely to face legal action for failing to shut down operations for a day and carry out Covid tests on all its staff members after three of them had tested positive.
The Porvorim Primary Health Centre (PHC) have expressed concern that despite repeated requests by the government, many people have not been observing social distancing and some have even been found roaming around without masks.
“On account of such reckless behaviour, Covid cases in Porvorim constituency are on the rise. Recently, three staff members of an automobile dealer in Porvorim had tested Covid positive,” said a source at the PHC.
“The dealer was advised to shut down operations for a day and carry out Covid tests on all its staff members. However, the company has not closed the dealership. The PHC plans to send a legal notice to the dealer.”
“Some people had gone to their native places for Ganesh Chaturthi. When these people return to Porvorim, Covid cases are likely to increase further,” the source added.
