8 held for assault

Eight persons were arrested on charges of assaulting Infrastructure Logistics (ILPL) manager Ravindra Nipane (37) at Redi-Sindhudurg in Maharashtra on Monday.
According to Vengurla police, the incident took place when one accused, Richard Lobo, an employee at ILPL, went to meet Nipane in his office.
Nipane received a call from his senior officials and asked Lobo to wait outside the office and that he would attend to him later.
This delay reportedly angered Lobo and he contacted his brother Michael Lobo (43), Pritesh Raool (32), Sakharam Pilgoankar (49) and Mahesh Rane (27), all from Redi, Hilarin Fernandes (47) and Wilfred Fernandes (47), both from Arravli, and Francis Souza (24) from Sawantwadi, and they forcefully entered into his cabin.
The accused allegedly assaulted Nipane with a metal chair and plastic table and threatened him with dire consequences.
The manager later filed a police complaint with the Vengurla police. Acting on the complaint, police arrested all eight accused and presented them before the court, where they were remanded to one day in police custody.
