Oscar-winning composer A R Rahman will honour the legacy of Lata Mangeshkar through a Memorial Talk on Musical Theatre in India at the 55th International Film Festival of India (IFFI). The event, scheduled for November 27 at Kala Academy from 2:30 pm to 4:00 pm, will feature Rahman in conversation with journalist Naman Ramachandran.
The discussion will delve into how Mangeshkar’s voice and artistry shaped the soundscape of Indian cinema, laying a foundation for music theatre that continues to resonate. Rahman and Ramachandran will also explore the evolution of Indian musical theatre, blending tradition with contemporary creativity.
IFFI’s Instagram page described the event as a celebration of Mangeshkar’s timeless influence on Indian music and her enduring impact on the art form.
