The pitiable condition of the road in Tivim

AAP State convenor Rahul Mhambre along with AAP Tivim in-charge, Rajesh Bondre and others holding a protest against bad condition of road in Tivim on Thursday morning.
MAPUSA: Protesting against the precarious condition of roads in Tivim, the Aam Admi Party (AAP) on Thursday demanded that the government take immediate steps to repair the bad stretch of road at the entrance of the Tivim village.
AAP State convenor Rahul Mhambre said the condition of the road is full of potholes and during the downpour it becomes worse.
“The lives of people are at risk. Several motorists from Tivim, Bicholim and Sankhelim commute on these roads on a daily basis. Spare parts of the vehicles also get damaged due to the bad road. The government should repair this dangerous patch of road on priority basis,” Mhambre said.
He said, ironically, the local MLA Nilkant Halarnkar’s office was just 200 mtrs away from the pothole-ridden road.
“This road needed urgent repair but the local MLA has turned a blind eye to it,” he said.
According to AAP Tivim in-charge, Rajesh Bondre, the stretch of road had become accident prone and several people on two-wheelers had a fall at the spot due to the terrible condition of the road.
“This particular stretch is so precarious that the motorists have to drive carefully. The local MLA and the State BJP president travels on this stretch everyday but they fail to take note,” Bondre said.
Incidentally, some commuters joined the AAP protest against the bad condition of the road.
