Velim MLA Cruz Silva on Sunday opened the Aamche Arogya Polyclinic at Menezes Bhatt, MLA Office, São José de Areal.
Fr Slater Alemao, Assistant Parish Priest of St. Jose Church, blessed the centre. Benaulim MLA Capt. Venzy Viegas, Dr Sean S Da Silva (ASG Eye Specialist), Carmin Fernandes (Sarpanch of São José de Areal), Alex D Silva (Sarpanch of Amelia), Amit Palekar (AAP Goa President), Roque Mascarenhas (Vice President) and other local panch members were present.
This is the second eye clinic in Velim, after the success of the first clinic, which completed over 50 cataract operations in six months.
Silva said the positive response and growing demand from residents of São José de Areal and Dicarpali led to setting up this new clinic. It will offer eye check-ups twice a week. “We are happy to bring quality eye care closer to the people of São José de Areal and Dicarpali,” Silva said.
“The success of the first clinic encouraged us, and this new polyclinic shows our commitment to the health of our people,” he added.
