Kicking off preparations for the forthcoming assembly elections believed to be less than a year away, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in the State has launched a massive connectivity programme called “Goa Jodo” (Unite Goa) to reach out to Goans across the State and unite them on the AAP platform.
Speaking during a press conference, AAP leader Valmiki Naik said that the party has been “buoyed by the response of people towards its ongoing awareness campaign across multiple constituencies.
“The Aam Aadmi Party has now emerged as the only reliable alternative to provide a corruption-free and people-focused government that can salvage what is left of Goa after years of divisive and destructive rule by the BJP & Congress,” he said.
As part of their campaign volunteers of the AAP began fanning out across the State beginning with Panaji to urge people to volunteer their time and services for the purpose of good governance.
“Through its corner meetings during “Goa Jodo” programme, the army of AAP volunteers have started talking to groups of citizens and explaining the AAP model of governance which is based on understanding the needs of the people as well as taking them into confidence before implementing any solution or taking any major decision,” he said.
The party has claimed that its volunteers have begun its activities in more than 25 constituencies and plans to cover all the constituencies by the end of the month.
More than 600 volunteers of AAP will be engaged in this month-long programme.
