MARGAO:
The aggrieved despositors assembled at the premises of this firm in Margao claiming to have some grievances with the firm as regards their deposits invested with the said firm. Later, they approached the district police Chief, SP Shekhar Prabhudesai with their grievances. After giving the depositors a patient hearing, SP Prabhudesai told them to lodge their complaint with the Police before initiating investigations into the matter.
He later told the media that the police would initiate investigations into the case only after the depositors lodge a formal complaint with the police station. “So far, there’s been no formal complaint lodged with the Margao police station”, SP Prabhudesai said.
A couple of depositors are believed to have called on Margao Sub-divisional Police officer, DySP Dinraj Govekar with their grievances. The depositors are believed to have shown their documents to the DySP, but have so far not registered any complaint with the police.
When contacted, DySP (Margao) Dinraj Govekar said no complaint as regards any grievance pertaining to the FOREX firm has been filed in this matter. “The police will act only after receiving the complaint,” said Govekar.
Replying to a question, DySP Govekar said the premise of the firm was found closed and the owner not reachable on his cell phone.
