The Aam Aadmi Party candidate Elvis Gomes wound up his campaign for the April 23 Lok Sabha election with an impressive rally that wend its way through the thoroughfares of Vasco to Salcete and into the hinterland talukas of South Goa.
In fact, Elvis led from the front in an open jeep as the rally comprising over 50 cars and several bikes wended its way through various constituencies in the South. Beginning from the Harbour point at Sada, Vasco at around 8:30 am, the rally wound its way through Vasco, Zuarinagar, Cansaulim and all villages enroute to Cavellosim, Assolna, Cuncolim, Balli, Quepem, Curchorem, Sanvordem, Chandor, Curtorim, Raia, Loutolim, Quellosim, Cortalim, Verna, before it ended in Margao at around 5 pm.
Speaking on the occasion Elvis said, “Tomorrow, we have given option to our volunteers to take rest and those from Christian community are told to join their families to celebrate Easter. However they will work from home.”
Meanwhile, AAP condemned attempts by rivals who are circulating false material against party leader Elvis Gomes.
AAP leader Sidharth Karapurkar said that those involved in such mischief were showing desperation. “But we forgive them for they don’t know what they are doing,” said Karapurkar echoing the words of Christ.
