Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Mapusa bypoll candidate Shekar Naik on Saturday said the people of Mapusa were looking for change and he was confident of emerging victorious in the ensuing elections.
“There are many issues that have been left incomplete in Mapusa. People want a change and they look up to me to resolve the pending works,” Naik said.
The AAP candidate was addressing a news conference in Mapusa along with AAP senior member, Pradeep Gadi Amonkar and others.
Speaking further, Naik said he was getting good support from the voters and vowed to fulfil the wishes of the people of Mapusa.
Senior AAP member Pradeep Gadi Amonkar informed that AAP has completed one round of campaigning in Mapusa.
“With the kind of feedback we are getting, we are sure to win by at least 1,000 votes in Mapusa. Most BJP workers are frustrated with their candidate and are expected to vote for us,” Amonkar said.
He said AAP candidate Shekar Naik was well-known in Mapusa and would definitely work for upliftment of the needy.
AAP member Godfrey D’Lima said development of Mapusa was crucial as all villages surrounding Mapusa were also affected.
“Mapusa is a very prominent place but without proper infrastructure. This is affecting all villages surrounding the constituency,” D’Lima said.
He said Shekar Naik was getting support from all sections of the society.
