Speaking to mediapersons in the city, AAP spokesperson Dr Oscar Rebello made the announcement that the party would not contest in Priol, adding that they would defeat Deepak Dhavalikar.
“We have so far declared candidates for 37 constituencies. We are in the process of our door to door campaign and have been getting a good response. In Priol constituency, we have seen that Gaude is a good candidate and is capable of defeating Deepak Dhavlikar,” he said.
Gaude, who has been a Scheduled Tribe leader in the area, said he would not like to join the AAP as such, thus choosing to contest as an independent from the area.
AAP also pointed fingers at the behaviours of BJP and Congress, calling them to be in a “level of confusion” and on a “terminal decline.”
