Give Tawadkar ticket or we resign: Quepem BJP Mandal

Many Quepem BJP Mandal office bearers have threatened a rebellion against the party, have promised to quit and work against the party if Ramesh Tawadkar is not given the party ticket to contest the Assembly elections from Canacona constituency.

MARGAO
They appealed to the party top brass to clear Tawadkar’s name and allot him the party ticket.
At a media briefing held in Margao, former ZP member Krishna Velip, who is currently the State BJP executive committee member, expressed disappointment over the party’s stand of putting on hold the issue of granting ticket to Tawadkar. He claimed Tawadkar worked for the party from the year 2002 till now. “In the five years when he was a minister, Tawadkar’s work has been appreciated in all 40 constituencies,” Velip told mediapersons.
Stating that Tawadkar is their leader and has worked for the ST samaj, Velip said the former Canacona MLA has also taken everybody along in this regard.
South Goa BJP vice-president Ganesh Velip said Tawadkar worked at the grassroots before being picked by the BJP in 2002. “From 2002 till now, Tawadkar has fought to give justice to the ST samaj. If he is not given the ticket, we, the youth, will work for the downfall of the BJP and work against the party,” Velip said.   TGN
